Walter Bagehot, 1826-1877

 

 Periodista inglés, uno de los primeros editores de la famosa e influyente revista "The Economist". Contemporáneo de los economistas clásicos, Bagehot destacaba la necesidad de un mayor contenido institucional en la teoría económica, especialmente el estudio de los factores culturales y sociales. Fue uno de los primeros economistas en tratar el concepto del ciclo de los negocios y en la teoría de los bancos centrales.
